About Allpress

Allpress started out life in Auckland as the first street coffee cart in 1986. They have come some distance from there as they now supply over 1000 coffee shops worldwide with the espresso blends. Allpress exclusively use a Hot Air Roasting process to roast their bins which they claim removes the smokey burnt taste sometimes found in traditional drum roasting.

When Allpress arrived in London they started out in Redchurch Street in Shoreditch hence the name of one of their main roasts. However they have outgrown that spot and now base their roasting in a larger location in Dalston.

Espresso by name...

As their name suggestions, Allpress focus primarily in roasts used for espresso which does limit their offering somewhat, but it does allow them to concentrate their efforts to just a handful of roasts and it has to be said, it's a strategy that is working well, as I personally think these are one of my most favoured coffee suppliers.

Allpress roasts consistently towards sweetness and warmth, with chocolate and caramel appearing across much of their range alongside brighter fruit notes — citrus, apple, and ripe tropical flavours that keep things lively without straying into the sharp or acidic. It's a coherent, approachable palette that works well for espresso drinkers who want complexity without unpredictability. If you find yourself drawn to coffees that feel rounded and familiar but still reward attention, Allpress is worth exploring.
